At HOW magazine, we strive to provide the best information and programs to unite and serve the design community. We are also continually assessing our business to ensure it meets your needs. With this goal in mind we performed a careful assessment of the Mind Your Own Business Conference scheduled to take place in October.

Given the current economic environment, the decline in the events industry at large, and more importantly the impact today’s economy has had on the design community specifically, we have determined to postpone this year’s event. And going forward, we will host the MYOB Conference only on alternating years.

A number of other factors helped us reach this decision, including feedback from past attendees, who told us:

  • Networking with other design firm principals is a major benefit of MYOB. Returning MYOB to its original every-other-year schedule ensures higher enrollment and more networking opportunities.
  • Past attendees have reported that the volume of information they receive at an MYOB Conference takes close to two years to implement and have measurable results. An every-other-year schedule supports constant, steady growth, and right-time deliverables.
  • Many MYOB attendees also go to the AIGA show; we attend it, ourselves. Design professionals shouldn’t be asked to choose only one when both shows offer such strong benefits to the design community. MYOB’s new schedule will alternate years with AIGA.
The postponement of the MYOB Conference does not affect the upcoming Creative Freelancer Conference, the In-HOWse Designer Conference, or the annual HOW Design Conference. Please sign up for our e-newsletter at right to get early updates about future events or join our LinkedIn group and continue to network with and learn from your fellow design firm principals.

Thank you for your continued support of the Mind Your Own Business Conference and HOW magazine.
